Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a health/technical field is required.
  • CHT/CHS, UHMS-approved Hyperbaric Safety Director Training, and BLS/ACLS certification (CHT, CHS credential required).
  • Completion of UHMS-approved Hyperbaric Safety Director course is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of hyperbaric experience.
  • BLS/ACLS certification preferred.
  • SB 1310 Florida legislation may influence degree/experience substitutions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and oversee hyperbaric chambers for clinical care and research protocols.
  • Serve as safety authority on duty, applying regulatory standards to ensure safe operations.
  • Lead technicians on shift and mentor staff in safety protocols.
  • Direct emergency procedures, evacuations, stabilization, and cycle management.
  • Conduct shift-level safety audits and coordinate with the Safety Director.
  • Oversee equipment checks, oxygen systems, and fire suppression readiness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
