ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for a Lead HVAC Technician.

The Lead HVAC Technician is responsible for performing maintenance tasks to ensure building, equipment, and systems operate efficiently. Responsibilities include surveying, troubleshooting, basic repairs, and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and other systems within the facility. The technician will work closely with the account manager and project manager to ensure timely project completion and quality standards. The role requires regular travel within the region, approximately 80%.

Pay: $45-50/hour

The listed pay is an hourly range or rate. Actual offers vary based on experience, skills, location, and market data.

Essential Functions:

  1. Preventive Maintenance:
  2. Perform routine maintenance on building systems and facilities.
  3. Inspect and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  4. Monitor and maintain safety systems, including fire alarms and sprinklers.
  1. Repair and Troubleshooting:
  2. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
  3. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls.
  1. Site Surveys:
  2. Visit client sites, document equipment and conditions using smartphone apps.
  3. Take notes and document client needs for solutions and cost estimates.
  1. Equipment Maintenance:
  2. Maintain and repair motors, pumps, compressors, and HVAC units.
  3. Keep tools and equipment in good condition and records up to date.
  1. Safety and Compliance:
  2. Follow safety regulations and report unsafe conditions.
  3. Ensure compliance with regulations regarding building and equipment maintenance.
  1. Administrative Tasks:
  2. Complete training, expense reports, and assist with RFPs, scopes, and estimates.
  3. Support facility inspections and audits.
  1. Collaboration:
  2. Coordinate activities with managers, contractors, and vendors.
  3. Assist with projects and provide support during inspections.

Qualifications:

  • Trade certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) are a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient with tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant systems.
  • Ability to interpret manuals, blueprints, schematics.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, able to multitask.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, and work in various environments.
