Job description

We are seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Boiler Installer to join our growing team. This role is responsible for leading the installation, replacement, startup, and commissioning of residential and light commercial boiler systems.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with hydronic heating, gas piping, boiler controls, and mechanical troubleshooting. You will lead installation projects, mentor team members, work closely with project managers and customers, and ensure each job is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the installation, replacement, startup, and commissioning of gas, oil, and hydronic boiler systems.

Install and connect hydronic piping, circulator pumps, expansion tanks, zone valves, thermostats, and boiler controls.

Perform system testing, troubleshooting, balancing, and commissioning to ensure proper operation.

Read and interpret blueprints, piping schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings.

Remove and dispose of existing heating equipment as needed.

Train and mentor team members assisting with boiler installation projects.

Diagnose and resolve installation‑related issues and ensure quality workmanship.

Communicate professionally with customers regarding system operation, maintenance, and questions.

Coordinate with project managers, dispatch, contractors, and other technicians to maintain efficient project scheduling.

Maintain accurate job documentation, service records, and communication with dispatch.

Follow all company safety procedures and applicable local, state, and federal codes.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Properly maintain tools and equipment.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of boiler installation experience.

Experience installing and replacing residential and light commercial hydronic heating systems.

Strong knowledge of boiler systems, hydronic piping, gas piping, pumps, and heating controls.

Ability to read blueprints, technical specifications, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.

Experience with boiler startup, testing, and commissioning.

Knowledge of applicable HVAC, plumbing, and safety codes.

Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

HVAC or plumbing apprenticeship experience.

Relevant technical certifications or training.

EPA certification.

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Experience leading or training HVAC installation teams.

Familiarity with residential and light commercial heating systems.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 75+ pounds.

Ability to work in confined spaces, including attics, basements, and mechanical rooms.

Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and construction environments.

Ability to perform manual tasks for extended periods.

Ability to work on ladders up to 30 feet and elevated surfaces.

Ability to safely handle tools, equipment, piping, and heating components.
