Job summary

Ronan High School in Ronan, Montana seeks a part-time Head Track Coach (Program Director) to lead the athletics program and work with the Activities Director to develop and implement a comprehensive track program. The position requires MHSA coaching credentials, first aid, and the ability to mentor young athletes.

Qualifications

• Completion of the Fundamentals of Coaching core course prior to contact with student-athletes.
• Completion of the Concussion in Sports course prior to contact with student-athletes.
• Completion of the MHSA coaches' certification program.
• Pending hire will be determined by passing background check.
• Completion of MHSA online rules clinic.
• Must possess current first aid card.
• The ability to work with young athletes.
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of the sport.
• Dedication to the program.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Activities Director in program development and implementation.
• Enforce MHSA and local administrative policies relating to athletics.
• Recruit, supervise and evaluate other coaches in the program.
• Monitor athletes' academic progress and eligibility per MHSA rules.
• Hold regular staff meetings during the season for coordination.
• Schedule contests and practices with the Activities Director.
• Obtain parental approval and emergency forms for participants.
• Inform players of training rules and enforce them consistently.
• Inform players of accident insurance coverage and file reports after injuries.
• Prepare budget estimates and submit requests in advance of trips.
