Job description

Purpose for the Position

Our staff provides the setting and support services that allow our guests and summer campers to grow in their relationships with God. This position has a variety of duties, primarily housekeeping, but also including supervised preparation of food for campers and staff, and dish room. This position may also add recreation services once trained.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Housekeeping duties:
    • Turnover (cleanup between guests in preparation for our next guests).
    • Housekeeping (general cleanup after guests during their stay).
    • Deep cleaning of facilities as time allows.
    • Leading other staff in the execution of the above housekeeping duties
  • Non Housekeeping duties:
    • Serve food to guests and camp staff.
    • Wash pots, pans, plates, glasses, silverware, and a variety of other kitchen items in the dish-room.
  • Other duties as needed.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
  • An attitude of service and a commitment to Twin Rocks Friends Camp and its ministry.
  • An evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the organizational goals, including a signed agreement with Twin Rocks statement of faith and community responsibilities.
  • Ability to effectively follow instructions.
  • Ability to effectively give instruction and provide leadership as a servant leader.
Skills and abailities
  • Maintain a viable, growing relationship with Christ and exemplify that relationship in daily life.
  • A person given to hospitality meeting the needs of our staff and guests.
  • Ability to work under tight time schedules staying focused on the task and yet maintaining a positive attitude.
  • A genuine concern to deliver quality for campers at Twin Rocks Friends Camp.
Environmental Conditions & Physical Demands

The position involves working around a 120-acre campus and in a food service institutional kitchen. The weather may be warm or cold and wet. It is necessary to be in good physical condition, able to lift up to 30 pounds, able to bend and kneel regularly and able to work on your feet.

Language Development
  • Able to communicate clearly in English with staff and guests.
  • Able to read English.
  • Spanish bilingual would be a big plus though not required.
Specific Vocational Preparation
  • Housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Team leadership experience preferred.
  • Task management experience preferred.
Compensation

This is a part-time, year-round position, eligible for the lead-level benefit package as outlined in Twin Rocks’ Employee Handbook. Among other things, this includes:

  • Base pay starting at $17.25
  • 401(k) retirement matching (Must be 21 yrs old)
  • Employee medical
  • Paid vacation/holiday/sick time.

The person in this position works 20+ hours/week and can average over 30 hours/week with occasional overtime on our busiest weeks.

Probationary Period

Positions at Twin Rocks Friends Camp are subject to a six-month probationary period.
