Job summary

Calvary Hospital is seeking a full-time Environmental Services worker in the Bronx. The role involves cleaning and servicing hospital areas, including patient and non-patient spaces, to sustain a sanitary environment.

Prior housekeeping/laundry experience is preferred, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for long periods is required. Must communicate effectively with patients, staff and visitors; English reading/writing is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous housekeeping/laundry experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate with patients, staff and visitors.
• Must be able to speak/read/write English.
• Carry weight and lift up to 40 lbs. frequently; up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
• Must have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, cleans and services hospital areas, including patient and non-patient spaces, to maintain sanitation.
• Performs a variety of housekeeping and/or laundry duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Environment Services Manager, or designee, cleans and services hospital building area, including patient and non-patient space, and performs a variety of housekeeping and or laundry duties to maintain the hospital and its grounds in an orderly and sanitary condition.

Salary: $26.2253 / hourly
