Job summary

The Dallas Arboretum is seeking a Horticulture Crew Leader to supervise the garden crew, volunteers, and interns in assigned areas and oversee landscape maintenance tasks starting at 6:30am. The role is full-time with a five-day work week and rotating weekend shifts.

The ideal candidate will have a BA in Horticulture or 3–5 years of professional garden experience, strong leadership, and knowledge of irrigation and pest management. Texas pesticide licensing is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or related field or 3–5 years of garden experience.
• Texas pesticide license is highly preferred.
• Proven team leader or supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of plant materials, irrigation, pruning and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Lead garden crew, volunteers, and interns in assigned area.
• Perform general landscape maintenance including planting, mowing, and pruning.
• Establish daily/weekly/monthly project completion schedules.
• Train staff on plant materials and landscape practices.
• Maintain tools and equipment and support special events.
