Job summary

Gads Hill Center in Chicago is seeking an Experienced Home Visiting Programs Lead to drive the 3-5 Head Start home visiting initiatives. You will oversee implementation of curricula, ensure fidelity to program models and funder requirements, and provide supervision to 3-5 home visiting staff.

You will collaborate with Education and Disabilities Manager, Home Visiting Education Coordinator, and Compliance Manager to maintain program quality and to support families with education and services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood or related field required; MA.Ed. preferred.
  • Previous managerial and Head Start program experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License and willingness to travel locally.
  • Experience with multi-cultural programming.
  • Direct early childhood experience with low-income families required.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to pass a criminal record and child abuse/neglect registry check.
  • Have a passion for the mission of Gads Hill Center.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, direct and observes all 3-5 Head Start home visitors.
  • Provides coaching and professional development opportunities according to staff needs and evaluates performance to ensure growth and accountability.
  • Collaborates with Education and Disabilities Manager to ensure full adherence to the Creative Curriculum and Parents as Teachers model. Monitors program service delivery through announced and unannounced visits.
  • Monitors data entry in Teaching Strategies GOLD and Efforts to Outcomes database to ensure accuracy and timeliness and sets up accounts accordingly.
  • Prepares and leads meetings for 3-5Head Start home visitors.
  • Collaborates with, Education and Disabilities Manager to support home visitors.
  • Together with the Home Visiting programs manager represents programs at appropriate monitoring visits and program audits. Assures compliance with Head Start and general child development standards.
  • Adheres to agency Ongoing Monitoring Plan to ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Collaborates with Education and Disabilities Manager to support the referral process and assist families in advocating for services for their children.
  • Actively participates in meetings of Children’s Services leadership to resolve problems and assist in determining the strategic direction of Children’s Services.
  • Reviews developmental screenings for all home visiting programs.
  • Reviews lesson plans and provides support to all home visitors.
  • Offers weekly reflective supervision to home visitors
  • Collectively with Family Support Specialist supports analyze data for the quarterly analysis report.
  • Ensures that emergency drills, including fire drills, severe weather drills and bus evacuation drills are conducted.
  • Provide regular written and oral reports on program as assigned
  • Monitors socializations and provides feedback.
  • Will carry a caseload of children when in need of a home visitor.

Home Visiting Programs Lead

Reports to Director of Children’s Programs

JOB SUMMARY

The 3-5 Home Visiting Program Lead is responsible for implementation of the agency’s home visiting programs for children ages 3-5. In this role, Lead manages implementation of all program curricula, ensures adherence to program models and funder requirements and provides supervision and guidance to all 3-5 home visiting staff. The Home Visiting Programs lead collaborates closely with the home visiting programs manager, Education and Disabilities Manager, Home Visiting Education Coordinator, and the Compliance Manager to maintain quality of program services and to ensure that families receive comprehensive education and family support services that fit their needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, all Gads Hill Center employees are responsible for the following
  • Participate in agency outreach and recruitment events, including evenings and weekends.
  • Participates in supervision meetings and workshops within the agency and outside (if applicable).
  • Participates in civic engagement activities that advance the mission of Gads Hill Center.
  • Advance parent leadership development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood or a related field required. M.A.Ed. in Early Childhood Education preferred.
