Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools seeks a leader to provide supervision and coaching at a large public high school. The role includes guiding student athletes, ensuring compliance with VHSL rules, and fostering partnerships to strengthen programs.

The incumbent will work with the athletic director, organize records, manage equipment and fees, and promote sportsmanship and safety across varsity and junior varsity activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in all phases of the game, sport, or activity.
• Work with student athletes to improve personal and teamwork skills.
• Provide guidance and encouragement for student participation.
• Maintain compliance with rules, regulations, and policies.
• Promote a favorable image of the school district.
• Encourage community partnerships to enhance programs.
• Work with athletic director to evaluate program needs.
• Promote proper use and care of school property.
• Communicate effectively with team, staff, parents, administration, community and media.
• Handle financial items for the athletic program, including equipment purchases and fees.
• Participate in athletic department fund-raisers.
• Complete VHSL master eligibility and other required forms.
• Organize and maintain records, including VHSL forms, insurance, and statistics.
• Be knowledgeable of health and safety practices and ensure compliance.
