Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Lead Technician to supervise a team of technicians and ensure repairs meet safety standards for chassis and refuse-bodywork, including hydraulics, electrical systems, and heating/AC.

The role includes diagnosing complex repairs, coaching junior technicians, scheduling work to minimize downtime, and inspecting external repairs to ensure safety and compliance, while mentoring staff to maintain high performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience leading technicians in heavy-truck maintenance or similar.
• Experience with OSHA Haz Com, Lockout/Tagout, and fire protection regulations is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Direct a group of technicians to perform repairs safely and efficiently.
• Diagnose complex problems and coach others on techniques.
• Schedule and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime and productivity losses.
• Inspect third-party repair work for safety and quality compliance.
• Mentor technicians and potentially assume supervisor duties as needed.
