Arcosa Lightweight is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our Livingston, Alabama plant. The role focuses on maintenance, repairs, and proactive safety practices for heavy equipment in a mining environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of heavy equipment and repair.
• Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment/software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read service and repair manuals.
• Valid Driver License Required.
• 4–5 years of experience on heavy mobile equipment in mining is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively promote safety and continuous improvement.
• Comply with safety rules and regulations.
• Identify mechanical problems visually or with diagnostics.
• Oils and lubricates moving parts for optimal performance.
• Record and report damaged or worn parts.
• Order and install replacement parts for heavy equipment.
• Diagnose causes of breakdowns and repair quickly.
• Maintain shop areas, tools, and supplies.
• Coordinate with management to schedule regular maintenance.
• Collaborate on new products and required modifications.
• Perform preventative maintenance on rolling stock and heavy equipment.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members.
• Conduct daily pre-shift inspections to ensure equipment readiness.
