Job summary

Louisiana Blue is seeking an experienced software engineer who can work with minimal supervision to design, develop, test, and document software for market sale or internal use. You will serve as a technical expert, participate in full development life cycle, write specifications, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

The role requires gathering requirements, assessing technologies, and providing leadership and training to peers while contributing to testing and debugging efforts

• Use development specifications and business requirements to create detailed test cases and ensure the solution meets business needs.
• Provide support to Principal trainers in training environments as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY

Working without supervision (and with extensive latitude for independent judgment) design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software systems and/or applications for market sale or large-scale proprietary software for internal use. Serve as a technical expert on development projects. Participate in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design. Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements. Support, maintain, and document software functionality. Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation. Analyze code and software configuration to find causes of errors and revise programs as needed. Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements. Consult with end user to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs. Accountable for complying with all laws and regulations associated with duties and responsibilities.

• Develop automated or AI driven testing methods
• Provides leadership, advice, and training to less experienced peers
• Document system problems and resolutions for future reference
• Provides technical support and troubleshooting assistance on software application related issues
• Perform configuration and change management oversight.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Bachelor's in Computer Science or a related field
• Master's degree preferred
• Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

Work Experienc e

• 7 years of software development experience required.
• Must have a minimum of five years of IT experience using general development technologies (i.e., C#, SSRS, SSIS, SQL Coding, XML, Azure Data Factory, GitHub CoPilot) or comparable computing language (i.e., .Net, BI, ERP) as approved by the hiring manager

Licenses / Certifications

• Relevant Epic software certifications, as designated by leader, may be required within 6 months of employment
