Responsibilities

• Provides daily work direction and guidance to Environmental Services team members.
• Assigns, monitors, and reviews work activities to ensure completion and quality standards.
• Assists with scheduling and staffing adjustments to meet operational needs.
• Serves as a resource to employees and students through orientation, training, and coaching.
• Leads onboarding, competency validation, staff development, and performance-related concerns.
• Communicates departmental policies and updates to staff.
• Promotes engagement, teamwork, and morale.
• Acts as liaison between Environmental Services and clinical staff, patients, visitors, and other departments.
• Verifies completion of duties and adherence to procedures.
• Inspects patient rooms, public areas, and high-touch surfaces for cleanliness and infection prevention compliance.
• Coordinates department projects, room setups, and special cleaning activities.
• Monitors bed tracking and assists with patient flow activities.
• Responds to service requests, emergencies, and hazardous material spills.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvement and reports to leadership.
• Reports safety concerns, equipment malfunctions, and facility issues promptly.
• Performs cleaning of patient rooms, offices, public spaces, and fixtures.
• Operates cleaning equipment and inventories supplies.
• Ensures chemicals are labeled and used per SDS.
