Wayzata Public Schools is seeking a Varsity Girls Lacrosse Head Coach for Wayzaya High School for the 2026‑27 season. The role includes conditioning, training, and skill development for student-athletes in the community.

Qualifications

• Prior coaching experience at college and/or high school level.
• Complete MSHSL Continuing Education requirements for head coach.
• Operate team in accordance with Wayzeta Public Schools, MSHSL, and Lake Conference.
• Ability to pass all required background checks.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Wayzata High School and the program's history and tradition.
• Compensation – WEA extracurricular stipend.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively within and outside the program with students, parents, and staff.
• Coordinate with the Director of Athletics & Activities to select and manage assistant coaches.
• Schedule games and practices with the athletic department.
• Conduct tryouts per MSHSL/department practices.
• Provide training opportunities during summer, fall, and spring sessions.
• Actively recruit and retain players from Wayzata Public Schools.
• Plan and conduct practices; manage strategy and playing time.
• Hold regular staff meetings to review progress and development.
• Ensure student-athlete wellbeing and team discipline.
• Maintain compliance with school, MSHSL, and conference policies.
