Job summary

Celestica Inc. is seeking a Test Engineer in the Dallas area to perform board bring-up, SI testing, and power characterization on PCBAs. You will document results and collaborate with the design team to root-cause hardware issues.

The role requires hands-on lab experience with test equipment, a BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering, and strong analytical skills. This position is based in Texas with on-site work expectations.

Qualifications

• Education: BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on Lab Experience: Proficiency with standard test equipment, including:
• Digital Oscilloscopes (high bandwidth)
• Digital Multimeters (DMMs)
• Programmable Power Supplies and Electronic Loads
• Scripting experience in a terminal environment
• Spectrum Analyzers or VNAs (a plus)
• Foundational understanding of Signal Integrity concepts (impedance matching, reflections, transmission line theory)
• Ability to read and interpret complex schematics and PCB layouts.
• Basic soldering skills for rework and attaching test probes.

Responsibilities

• Board Bring-Up & Validation: Assist in the initial power-on and functional verification of new PCB assemblies (PCBAs).
• Signal Integrity (SI) Testing: Conduct physical layer measurements on high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, USB, and DDR.
• Power Testing: Perform DC-DC converter characterization including efficiency, load transients, and sequencing validation.
• Electrical Characterization: Use lab equipment to verify electrical specs and ensure designs meet standards.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Document results, identify failures, and work with design team to root-cause hardware issues.
