Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Hardware Security Operations Manager in Kentucky to lead a team of hardware security engineers. You will diagnose hardware security issues, drive risk assessments, and develop rigorous testing plans across the product lifecycle from suppliers to decommissioning.

You will balance hands-on engineering with people leadership, set priorities, review reports, and work with internal customers to communicate findings.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance or engineering experience, or experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other operations engineer tools.
• 2+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience, or Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in computer science or equivalent
• 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience, or experience in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Networking Engineering)
• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure, or experience driving collaborative projects from conception to delivery

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, and develop a team of hardware security engineers, including setting goals, giving regular feedback, and managing performance
• Plan and prioritize team workload across projects, balancing customer commitments, operational needs, and long-term capability building
• Perform hands-on testing, automation, root cause analysis, and engineering artifact generation alongside the team
• Own the development and review of SOPs for operation, equipment, testing, and analysis, and make sure the team follows them consistently
• Review and approve engineering reports with the internal team and internal customers before publishing
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal customers and partner teams on the team's work, escalations, and results
• Define and track operational metrics for the team and report status and risks to leadership
• Drive a security mindset and provide guidance across all functions and operations
• Own audits and reviews of operational activities (for example cycle counts, physical security, and inventory management) and drive corrective actions to closure
• Manage lab equipment, assets, and resources, including identifying capability gaps and proposing investments
• Lead continuous improvement efforts that increase the automation and efficiency of operations
• A day in the life: In this role you will lead a team that assesses risks to AWS infrastructure by validating hardware security controls through inspection and testing of devices across the whole lifecycle, from suppliers through decommissioning.
