Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Lead Hardware Design Engineer in the Atlanta area to drive end-to-end hardware development for mixed-signal systems and safety-critical products. You will coordinate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams to deliver robust hardware solutions.

The role demands 10+ years of hardware design experience, expertise in analog/digital circuitry, FPGA and microcontrollers, and strong SI/PI, EMI/EMC, and DFMEA know-how.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years hardware design and development experience.
  • Strong analog and digital circuit design.
  • Experience with FPGA, microprocessors, and microcontrollers.
  • Hands-on mixed-signal systems and sensor interfaces.
  • Strong knowledge of power supplies, signal conditioning, ADC/DAC, and filters.
  • Experience with PCB design/review using Altium.
  • Knowledge of SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, USB, Ethernet.
  • Experience with SI/PI analysis.
  • Familiarity with SPICE/PSPICE simulations and hardware verification.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Experience with EMI/EMC, environmental testing, DFMEA, and reliability analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead hardware development from architecture through production.
