Job summary

NorCal Aquarium and Wildlife Adventures seeks a Senior Environmental Quality Keeper to lead environmental systems across aquatic and terrestrial habitats. You will ensure optimal conditions, monitor water quality, troubleshoot issues, and guide a team of Animal Keepers in habitat care.

You will collaborate with Curators, Veterinary staff, and facilities to uphold animal welfare standards, contribute to habitat design, and drive data-driven improvements that promote thriving animal life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 5+ years in animal care with 2+ years in habitat or environmental management.
• Strong expertise in water quality, filtration, and life support systems.
• Proven leadership, training, and team-coaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain optimal environmental conditions across all habitats.
• Monitor key parameters (pH, salinity, DO, ammonia, nitrites/nitrates, temperature, humidity).
• Identify trends, troubleshoot imbalances, implement corrective actions.
• Ensure systems meet species-specific needs and best practices.
• Lead and develop the Environmental team and partner with curators.
