Job summary

Solairus Aviation seeks a Gulfstream G600/G800 Maintenance Technician in San Jose, CA to lead maintenance on assigned aircraft, ensure airworthiness, and manage maintenance records and budgets. You will coordinate with DOM/CAM, supervise technicians, and ensure compliance with CFRs and OEM service bulletins.

Ideal candidates hold a valid A&P certificate with 7+ years of corporate aircraft maintenance experience, and be able to work near KSJC within an hour relocation window.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid A&P Certificate.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in Corporate Aircraft Maintenance Operations.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the CFRs and aircraft maintenance standards.
• Proficient with planning, implementation, and direction of the maintenance programs and control system for the aircraft operated.
• Be a highly motivated individual committed to Safety, Regulatory Compliance, and Operational Excellence!
• Remains fit for duty and abstain from drug and alcohol abuse.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a valid Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
• Lead all maintenance activities of assigned aircraft, including implementing the maintenance standards, methods, and procedures to ensure compliance with CFRs, manufacturer recommendations, and company policies.
• Coordinate maintenance training requirements with the DOM and/or CAM.
• Develop a budget outlining and projecting financial expenses related to aircraft maintenance, parts & labor, tooling, equipment and base facilities.
• Supervise and approve expenditures related to assigned aircraft.
• Participates in Safety Management Systems and assumes duties delegated by the DOM, Manager of Maintenance Operations, and CAM.
• Supervises aircraft maintenance personnel and aircraft interior and exterior cleaning, ensuring quality and completeness of maintenance.
• Coordinates with AMOs and conducts vendor evaluations for outside maintenance.
• Ensures complete records of inspections, repairs, component changes, airframe flight time, engine times, AD notes, Service letters and FAA maintenance instructions are maintained.
• Ensures compliance with Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins affecting company aircraft.
• Removes unsafe aircraft and ensures airworthiness of aircraft returned to service.
• Ensures aircraft readiness with minimal schedule impact.
• Serves as liaison between the company and the FAA regarding maintenance policies.
• Maintains certification and recency requirements per 14 CFR 65.83.
• Performs internal audits of tool calibration and material control.
