Job summary

K2 Space is seeking a Principal Ground Integration Engineer to lead the team responsible for integrating all ground systems across commercial, science, and national security missions. You will direct a multi‑partner strategy and align the ground network with spacecraft operations, enabling secure, scalable, and rapid deployments.

You will collaborate with Ground Software Applications and Flight Software teams to drive new integrations, recruit top engineers, and ensure ground infrastructure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Math or 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• 8+ years of experience in software development.
• 3+ years of leadership experience at department or org level.
• Experience deploying and integrating sophisticated hardware and software systems.
• Proven success building and scaling high-impact engineering teams.
• Strong track record delivering enterprise-scale solutions in fast-paced environments.
• Deep experience with classified systems and their security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the long-term vision for end-to-end ground systems integration.
• Lead investment in new in-house ground infrastructure and manage partners.
• Architect ground systems for multi-level classification with secure operations.
• Build and support a team of ground integration engineers.
• Ensure scalable, robust, and secure systems delivered at startup speed.
• Represent K2 Space in recruiting, events, and partnerships.
