Job summary

Lowes Foods in Columbia, SC is seeking a team member for the grocery department to stock, rotate, and maintain shelves while providing friendly guest service. You will assist with unloading deliveries, ensure inventory accuracy, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards throughout the store.

The role involves working with the Grocery Manager to meet guest demand, maintain product availability, and support a smooth checkout process. Prior grocery experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide polite, friendly interactions with all guests and co-workers.
• Stock, rotate, and condition all grocery product on shelves according to Lowes Foods standards and productivity guidelines.
• Maintain neat and safe work area to allow guests to shop without agitation.
• Maintain organized, inventoried backstock in the backroom area.
• Minimize damage and shrink through proper inventory control, rotation of the shelves and overstock, and proper product handling.
• Assist with unloading and verifying merchandise upon delivery to the store.
• Maintain sanitation standards on the sales floor and in the backroom area.
• Communicates temperature problems to supervisor (dairy and frozen food).
• Performs front-end duties as necessary to ensure “no noticeable wait” standard is upheld and maintained.
• Assist with grocery department inventory.
• Works with Grocery Manager and Store Manager to meet guest demand for grocery items.
• Ensures adequate product level throughout the grocery department to maximize sales and minimize excessive inventory.
• Orders and merchandises all ad items to maximize sales and profits.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
