Job summary

AMD is seeking a strategic software engineering lead to improve the performance of key applications and benchmarks for future GPU architectures. You will join a core team and contribute to state-of-the-art compiling technology within the LLVM framework.

The role emphasizes leadership, strong C/C++, and collaboration across diverse teams to drive advanced compiler enhancements and hardware bring-ups.

Qualifications

  • Strong object-oriented programming background; C/C++ preferred.
  • Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs.
  • Experience with Windows, Linux and/or Android OS development.
  • Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source control (GitHub) and profilers a plus.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work with AMD’s architecture specialists to improve future products.
  • Apply a data minded approach to target optimization efforts.
  • Stay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations, especially pertaining to algorithms and architecture.
  • Design and develop new groundbreaking AMD technologies.
  • Participate in new ASIC and hardware bring ups.
  • Debugging/fix existing issues and research alternative, more efficient methods.
  • Develop technical relationships with peers and partners.
  • Work with ML frameworks and HPC applications to implement compiler enhancements for current and future AMD GPU hardware.
