Job summary

Commencement Bay Animal Hospital in Tacoma, WA seeks a lead General Practitioner to own the wellness, surgery, and dentistry caseload while partnering with our Chief of Staff on the Urgent Care side in a fully equipped hospital. You will work with a collaborative team using digital & dental radiography, ultrasound, and an in‑house lab.

Compensation includes $140,000–$150,000 base, quarterly bonus, signing or relocation bonus, and full benefits (health/dental/vision, 401(k), CE time and

Qualifications

• Licensed DVM with focus on small animals.
• Experience in general practice and surgery.
• Strong dentistry and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the GP side of the practice—from puppy/kitten visits to senior pet care.
• Perform surgeries and dentistry with top-notch tools and tech.
• Collaborate with LVTs, Assistants, and leadership to streamline care.
• Use modern diagnostics: Digital & dental radiography, Ultrasound, In-house lab.
• Work in a well-organized treatment area with the tools needed to perform at your best.
• No weekends, late hours, or on-call; Tue–Fri schedule with one doctor on Friday; 1 procedure day and 3 appointment days; option for a 3-day work week.
