Job summary

Painters & Allied Trades DC6 in Columbus, Ohio is seeking an experienced Lead Glazier to build a core team for commercial projects across Central Ohio. This leadership role will supervise field crews and perform all aspects of commercial glazing, including storefronts, curtain walls, doors, and architectural glass.

The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, proven leadership, and a commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and mentoring apprentices.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of lead commercial glazing experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel throughout Central Ohio.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise glazing crews on commercial construction projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications.
• Coordinate daily work activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Install curtain wall systems, storefronts, entrances, architectural aluminum, glass, mirrors, automatic doors, and related glazing systems.
• Measure, cut, fabricate, and install glass and aluminum framing systems.
• Ensure all installations are plumb, level, watertight, and meet quality standards.
• Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, lifts, scaffolding, and other equipment safely.
• Mentor and train apprentices and less experienced glaziers.
• Maintain OSHA compliance and promote a safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, foremen, contractors, and customers.
