Job summary

North Thurston Public Schools is seeking a Head Girls Track Coach at North Thurston High School in Lacey, WA. The position requires leadership, organization, and the ability to guide student-athletes in fundamentals, practice planning, and competition readiness.

You will supervise practices, ensure safety and fair play, and coordinate duties with assistants while maintaining scholastic eligibility and program integrity.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older for head coach position.
• Must be 19 years of age or older for assistant coach position.

Responsibilities

• Teach basic fundamentals for participation
• Ensure regular practices and supervision for improvement
• Instruct rules, equipment care, fair play, safety
• Schedule and conduct practices for competition readiness
• Show enthusiasm to engage students and parents
• Maintain and inventory equipment
• Adhere to school, district and WIAA rules
• Assign duties to assistants
• Coordinate track program across levels
• Model ethical behavior and discipline
• Monitor student eligibility
• Supervise players at games and travel
• Update techniques through coursework/clinics
• Complete pre/post-season duties timely
