Job summary

STV Incorporated is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support a multi-billion-dollar infrastructure project in Orlando. The role emphasizes ensuring compliance with transportation standards, guiding geotechnical analysis, and providing mentorship throughout planning, design, and construction phases.

You will collaborate with engineers across disciplines, lead geotechnical tasks, review reports and calculations, and help manage risk and permitting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or geotechnical engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 6+ years in geotechnical engineering with leadership in infrastructure.
• Florida PE license or ability to obtain within six months.
• Experience with geotechnical analysis and foundation design.
• Proficiency in PLAXIS, LPILE, GeoStudio or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Geotechnical Engineering Manager in guiding geotechnical efforts: site investigations, soil testing, foundation design.
• Ensure compliance with geotechnical standards, specifications, and best practices.
• Provide guidance during project planning: develop geotechnical scope, units, staff hours; negotiate with design team.
• Advise project teams on ground improvement, slope stability, and foundation systems.
• Collaborate with structural and roadway engineers to integrate geotechnical solutions.
• Review geotechnical reports, calculations, and design recommendations.
• Identify geotechnical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Support permitting, stakeholder coordination, and construction oversight.
