Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Berkeley Dog & Cat Hospital is seeking a General Practice Technician Supervisor to lead medical staff and manage scheduling within the department. This role requires an RVT and offers a sign-on bonus up to $1,000 based on experience.

You will supervise technicians, support patient care, ensure adherence to standards, and maintain equipment and records. A collaborative, mission-driven team environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
• Preferably with Veterinary controlled substance permit
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Determine animal requirements by examinations, reviews of care plans, labs and imaging.
• Care for patients: vitals, samples, medications, vaccines, wounds.
• Support patient examinations by prep of supplies, securing rooms, and guiding patients as directed.
• Provide knowledge-based care using anatomy, physiology, disease processes, pharmacology and equipment.
• Obtain and verify medications.
• Ensure patients have food/water, clean rooms, observe for signs of disease.
• Fill prescriptions and document controlled drugs.
• Maintain sterile environment and equipment; prep for procedures.
• Maintain medical records with updates on patient conditions.
• Communicate patient status to pet owner as directed.
• Maintain equipment; troubleshoot, perform maintenance and arrange repairs.
• Manage inventory and orders for supplies.
• Update job knowledge via education and journals.
• Release pets to owners, ensuring cleanliness before release.
• Follow oral and written directions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.
