Job summary

Stryker in Flower Mound, TX is seeking a Lead Full-Stack Software Engineer to shape the engineering direction of our internal web solutions for US Customer Solutions. You will own system architecture, mentor junior engineers, and drive AI-powered feature development while staying hands-on with critical builds.

You'll collaborate with business stakeholders and data engineering to deliver scalable, reliable applications, balancing leadership, architecture, and hands-on coding to keep delivery fast

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, math, HCI, or related field.
• 4+ years of full-stack software engineering.
• Led design/development of production web apps (Flask/React/Next.js) with GenAI tools.
• Strong SQL design, Postgres, and performance tuning.
• Azure-based services incl. AI features.
• Experience mentoring engineers.
• Experience with Agentic AI development & CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
• Python, Databricks, and cloud-native architecture.
• Deploying AI-powered features into commercial apps.
• Stakeholder engagement in MedTech environments.

As a Lead Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will go beyond building applications to design, lead, and guide the engineering direction of our internal web solutions for US Customer Solutions. You will set the standard for engineering excellence, mentor junior engineers, and own system architecture while remaining hands‑on with critical builds and AI‑powered feature development. You’ll partner closely with business stakeholders and data engineering to deliver scalable, reliable, and impactful solutions while balancing hands‑on development, team leadership, architectural influence, and innovation.

What You Will Do:

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Design and lead the architecture of modern, scalable full-stack applications.
• Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Lead integration of AI-powered features into existing and new applications.
• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to align engineering solutions with business objectives.

Software Engineering – New Development

• Lead design, development, testing, and deployment of greenfield full-stack applications.
• Drive modernization efforts: migrate and redesign legacy apps into Flask/Next.js.
• Partner with the data engineering team to modernize ETL pipelines.

Maintenance & Reliability

• Support maintenance, enhancements, and upgrades of assigned applications
• Act as a technical escalation point for production issues.
• Oversee and improve performance, reliability, and maintainability of core apps.

What You Need:

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field.
• 4+ years of full-stack software engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading design and development of production-grade web applications (Flask, React, Next.js) with and without GenAI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.).
• Strong skills in SQL design, Postgres, performance tuning, and Azure-based services (including AI-powered features).
• Application Security – Intra and SD element.
• Experience mentoring and developing engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Agentic development, AI Automation, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD.
• Experience with Python, Databricks, and cloud-native architecture.
• Experience designing and deploying AI-powered features into commercial applications.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, especially in commercial or MedTech environments.

• USN: $89,300 - $148,800 USD Annual
• US5: $93,800 - $156,200 USD Annual

• US15: $102,700 - $171,100 USD Annual
• US20: $107,200 - $178,600 USD Annual
• US30: $116,100 - $193,400 USD Annual
