Job summary

Lab37 Robotics in Los Angeles is seeking a Staff Full‑Stack Software Engineer to own major product and technical areas—from definition through production—and work across frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, integrations, and robot‑adjacent interfaces with cross‑functional teams.

You will stay hands‑on while providing technical leadership: shaping architecture, mentoring others, and helping the LA team scale, with a strong emphasis on reliability, observability, and developer productivity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience across multiple components.
• Ability to lead architecture in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
• Backend experience with at least one language (Go preferred).
• Strong frontend skills with TypeScript; Vue helpful.
• Experience designing APIs, services, data models, and event-driven workflows.
• Proven ability to mentor and influence technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Own full-stack initiatives spanning UI, backend, cloud, and integrations.
• Lead technical design balancing speed, reliability, and maintainability.
• Partner with product, culinary, and operations to define solutions.
• Build software to configure, observe, and manage kitchen operations.
• Integrate with delivery and commerce platforms.
• Develop operator-facing interfaces for production environments.
• Collaborate with firmware and robotics teams for cohesive systems.
• Own rollout, testing, observability, and incident response.
• Set standards through code reviews and documentation.
• Mentor engineers and help grow the LA team.
• Contribute to hiring and technical calibration.
