Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Jersey City, within Corporate Technology, to drive critical technology solutions across multiple business functions. You will work in an agile team to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, scalable way.

You will lead development, support robust production code, and promote responsible AI-assisted engineering practices while collaborating across vendors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in one or more programming languages: C#.NET, Angular, AngularJS, React.
• Experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Security.
• Design and develop REST-based web interfaces and APIs; knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, CockroachDB, Cassandra).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bitbucket, Terraform) and cloud deployment paradigms.
• Experience creating unit/integration tests with JUnit and Cucumber; familiarity with VS Code and AI tooling (Copilot, Claude Code).
• Proven track-record leading use of AI-assisted development tools with focus on correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and secure handling of data.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting with capability to go beyond routine approaches.
• Develops secure high-quality production code and reviews code written by others.
• Drives team adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, speed, and outcomes while maintaining validation standards.
• Applies SDLC tools, including AI-assisted development, to improve automation and value.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation to improve stability of applications and systems.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and applicability.
• Leads communities of practice to promote new technologies and engineering practices.
• Contributes to a team culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.
