Job summary

iFIT is seeking a Lead Front-End Developer to drive our web application architecture and lead a high-performing remote team. You will oversee front-end delivery across our web properties, with NordicTrack.com as your primary focus.

You will lead the team building our e-commerce web applications on Next.js, collaborating with UI/UX designers, back-end developers, QA, and product to deliver fast, accessible, and responsive experiences while mentoring engineers and driving A/B testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science plus 4 years, or 8+ years of professional front-end development experience.
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React, with hands-on Next.js experience.
• 3+ years leading or mentoring front-end developers.
• Experience with GraphQL and with headless CMS or composable e-commerce platforms.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Drive the design and implementation of efficient, scalable, dynamic front-end solutions using Next.js.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, back-end developers, QA, and product managers to ensure seamless integration of dynamic front-end React components.
• Lead and mentor the front-end development team, conducting training sessions and workshops on Next.js and other front-end best practices.
• Set and enforce coding standards, best practices, and code reviews to maintain high code quality.
• Leverage GraphQL for efficient data fetching and manipulation of API data from composable e-commerce and headless CMS platforms.
• Own front-end accessibility (WCAG 2.1 Level AA) and Core Web Vitals performance across our e-commerce sites.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement in front-end development processes.
• Contribute to project planning, resource allocation, and sprint reviews.

Lead Front-End Developer, E-Commerce remotely in the US

iFIT is looking for an experienced Lead Front-End Developer to drive our web application architecture and lead a high-performing remote team. You will oversee front-end delivery across our web properties, with NordicTrack.com as your primary focus. In this role, you will lead the team building our e-commerce web applications on Next.js, working closely with UI/UX designers, back-end developers, QA, and product to deliver fast, accessible, and responsive experiences — while shaping architecture, mentoring developers, and driving A/B testing. You will report to the Senior Director of Software Engineering and manage a team of three direct reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive the design and implementation of efficient, scalable, dynamic, and maintainable front-end solutions using Next.js.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UI/UX designers, back-end developers, QA, and product managers to ensure seamless integration of dynamic front-end React components.
• Lead and mentor the front-end development team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment and supporting each developer’s professional growth; run training sessions and workshops on Next.js and other front-end best practices.
• Set and enforce coding standards, best practices, and code reviews to maintain high code quality.
• Leverage GraphQL for efficient data fetching and manipulation of API data from composable e-commerce and headless CMS platforms.
• Own front-end accessibility (WCAG 2.1 Level AA) and Core Web Vitals performance across our e-commerce sites.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education And Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science plus 4 years, or 8+ years of professional front-end development experience.
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React, with hands-on Next.js experience.
• 3+ years leading or mentoring front-end developers.
• Experience with GraphQL and with headless CMS or composable e-commerce platforms.
• Experience implementing and analyzing A/B tests for web applications.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Solid understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
• Experience with Vercel or Netlify.
• Experience with Git and build tools such as Webpack/Vite and npm.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 Level AA, Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS), and image and video optimization.
• Experience with Figma or similar design tools.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools.

Pay Range: : $120,000 USD - $140,000 USD
