Job summary

Marion City Schools invites applications for the Head Freshman Boys Basketball coach at Harding High School in Marion, Ohio. The role involves leading practices, teaching fundamentals, and promoting student athlete development within the Winter season as a supplemental contract.

The coach reports to the Extracurricular Activities Director/Designee and will work with assistants and the Athletic Boosters to promote a positive athletic program.

Qualifications

• PASP – Pupil Activity Supervisor Permit issued by the Ohio Department of Education, includes Fundamentals of Coaching, Concussion Education, CPR, First Aid/Health Safety.
• Strong knowledge of the sport being taught and ability to teach fundamentals.
• Concussion Education and Lindsey’s Law compliant training are required.
• Ability to work with students, staff and parents in a collaborative athletic program.
• Alternative qualifications may be approved by the superintendent/board.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit professional behavior, emotional stability and sound judgment.
• Ensure the safety of students during practices and contests.
• Set up practice schedules and coordinate with assistants.
• Maintain equipment and inventory with the athletic director.
• Promote good public relations with boosters, staff and students.
