Job summary

Renesas Electronics Corp. is seeking a Principal FPGA Emulation & Prototyping Engineer to own FPGA-based platforms that emulate mixed-signal power ASICs pre-silicon.

You will validate real-time digital, mixed-signal, and power-control architectures, advise on FPGA-ability, and turn architectural intent into a working emulation platform. Lead FPGA implementation, adapt RTL for FPGA, and drive hardware bring-up and pre-silicon debug with deep visibility.

Qualifications

• 10+ years FPGA design and implementation experience
• Expert-level RTL design in SystemVerilog and/or VHDL
• Deep FPGA architecture knowledge and real-time emulation mapping
• Experience adapting ASIC RTL for FPGA emulation
• Full FPGA flow experience: synthesis, PnR, timing, constraints
• Hardware bring-up and debug proficiency; automation scripting

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with RTL/DSP architects to bring ASIC designs to FPGA in real time pre-silicon
• Adapt ASIC RTL for FPGA with clock-gating, memory mapping, resets, and analog/mixed-signal modeling
• Map designs onto FPGA fabric to meet emulation speed and resource constraints
• Build real-time environment around digital core, interfacing with analog/power stages
• Develop deep pre-silicon debug, waveform capture, triggers and assertions
• Define and improve emulation methodology, flows, and automation, including TCL/Python
• Provide technical leadership: mentoring, reviews, and cross-team decisions
