Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network in Allentown, PA, seeks an Orthopedic Surgeon to provide comprehensive perioperative care across the network.

Responsibilities include pre-operative evaluation, intra-operative management, and post-operative follow-up, with emphasis on patient advocacy and teamwork. The ideal candidate will complete residency in orthopedic surgery, hold or be eligible for board certification, and possess active PA and NJ licenses.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical school with completed residency in orthopedic surgery.
• Fellowship training preferred for subspecialty.
• Board Certification or Eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery required.
• Active medical license in PA and NJ required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative care for patients.
• Conduct initial evaluations, history and physical examinations.
• Enter daily patient notes into the EMR and coordinate with care team.
• Attend clinics and participate in continuing medical education.
• Supervise nurses, assistants, specialists and residents as needed.
• Refer patients to other healthcare practitioners and resources as necessary.
• Engage in research and ongoing medical education to enhance knowledge base.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety guidelines.
