About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor performs a variety of kitchen duties as assigned and/or instructs inmate labor in preparation and serving of correctional facility meals in accordance with departmental work production standards, standardized recipes, and work instructions.

Please note: Supervisory duties involve supervising inmate labor.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

1. Independently prepares, assists, or instructs inmate labor/team members in the preparation of a variety of food items following departmental standards, recipes, and instructions.
2. Handles production and sanitation paperwork essential for facility compliance.
3. Ensures cleaning and maintenance of all food service equipment and work areas, confirming safety and sanitation practices are followed.
4. Adheres to institution requirements in meal preparation, oversight, and serving.
5. Follows institution housekeeping and safety practices as instructed.
6. Stores food and supplies according to instructions.
7. Performs in high-volume food production environments, preparing food for large groups.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

1. High school diploma or equivalent; must be at least 18 years old.
2. At least 1 year of experience in a food service role, with prior institutional or restaurant experience being a plus.
3. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
4. Ability to stand for long periods.
