Job summary

Goodwill South Florida is seeking a Lead Floor Care Specialist to join the Miami team at Claude Pepper Federal Building-CLASC. This full-time, day-shift role focuses on advanced floor maintenance and guiding the floor care staff to meet contract standards.

The role covers mopping, stripping, finishing, buffing, and cleaning various floor surfaces, plus operating commercial equipment. You’ll train team members and may act as supervisor when needed; overtime and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift over 20 lbs.
• Six (6) months to one (1) year of experience in floor care or custodial services.
• Experience operating commercial floor care equipment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license may be required by contract.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor care tasks including dust, damp, and wet mopping; stripping and refinishing floors; applying sealers and finishes; buffing and burnishing.
• Train team members, monitor quality, and provide informal coaching and feedback.
• May serve as Acting Supervisor in the absence of the Custodial Supervisor.
• Operate floor care equipment safely; maintain storage areas and perform minor equipment maintenance.
• Work in indoor/outdoor environments as needed and support a diverse workforce.
