Job summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions is seeking a Lead Shop Technician/Mechanic for Forest Park, GA. You will oversee the maintenance and repair of light to heavy-duty vehicles and supervise junior technicians, ensuring safety and efficiency.

The role offers a $36-$40/hr wage with weekly pay, full benefits within 30 days, and a potential bonus up to $5,000. Shift is Monday–Friday, days, with opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years experience performing vehicle maintenance.
• Fleet maintenance experience required.
• DOT inspection experience required.
• ASE Certifications preferred.
• EPA 608 Certification preferred.
• CDL class A or B preferred.
• Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.
• Knowledge of hand held scan tools for diagnosing vehicles.
• Ability to read schematics and use related processes.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Fleet manager to complete shift work.
• Supervise 2+ technicians while working.
• Update and close work orders; liaise with drivers.
• Maintain, order, and update parts inventory.
• Prepare vehicle records manually and digitally.
• Conduct safety inspections and document them.
• Inspect and service undercarriage areas of vehicles.
• Access all vehicle areas to perform maintenance.
• Move parts to/from job site and install as needed.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.

Position Summary

Lead Shop Technician/Mechanic – Forest Park, GA

$36.00 - $40.00 hr | Weekly Pay | Full Benefits within 30 Days | Potential Bonus, up to $5,000

Amerit Fleet Solutions is one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the U.S., and we’re looking for an experienced Lead Technician to join our growing team in Forest Park, GA.

The Lead Technician will be responsible for timely repair and maintenance of light, medium, or heavy duty vehicles to ensure a safe and efficient fleet of vehicles as well as managing employees and garage operations.

Pay: $36.00 – $40.00/hour (based experience)Pay Frequency: Weekly pay – every FridaySchedule: Monday - Friday 6:00AM - 2:30PM (Day-Shift!)

What You’ll Do

• Coordinate with Fleet manager in completing shift work
• Able to supervise 2 or more other employees, while working
• Must update work orders, close work orders, and work with drivers
• Must maintain, order, and update parts inventory
• Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required
• Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
• Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
• Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicle
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
• Perform other duties as required

What We’re Looking For

• At least 5 years experience performing vehicle maintenance
• Must have fleet maintenance experience
• Must have DOT inspection experience
• ASE Certifications preferred
• EPA 608 Certification Preferred
• Commercial Driver’s License class “A” or “B “ preferred
• Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
• Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.
• Knowledge of hand held scan tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles.
• Ability to read schematics and familiar with process
• Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)

Working Conditions

This role involves working in a mobile, outside and/or shop environment with exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, and mechanical materials such as oils and greases. Technicians must be able to perform essential job functions that include frequent movement such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods, as well as lifting heavy objects and accessing tight or confined spaces. This position requires regular use of hands to grasp, reach, handle, and operate tools and equipment. Technicians may be required to work at heights using ladders or elevated platforms and must be able to safely perform duties in various weather conditions. Due to the active work environment and movement of large vehicles, the ability to see and hear sufficiently to safely navigate the workspace is required.
