Job summary

Hightower in Chicago seeks an experienced Fixed Income Trader to lead day-to-day trading operations, mentor junior staff, and drive execution quality across municipal, taxable, and other fixed income markets. Reporting to the Executive Director of FI Trading, you will optimize platforms, monitor risk, ensure compliance, and partner with portfolio managers to implement strategies.

The role requires deep fixed income markets expertise, strong leadership, and a track record of driving performance

Qualifications

• 5+ years fixed income trading experience in institutional environments.
• Strong knowledge of municipal bonds and taxable fixed income products.
• Proficiency with trading platforms, OMS, and related tech.
• Understanding of investment advisory/broker-dealer operations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor traders and trading support staff.
• Execute and oversee fixed income trades across markets.
• Monitor risk and ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Develop market analysis and strategy to improve execution quality.
