The Android video expert will provide deep technical leadership for Crestron's embedded Android and Linux video platforms as a hands-on firmware engineer leading development efforts within the team and influencing direction, roadmaps, and technical decisions. The role has ownership across video architecture, codec integration, performance optimization, debugging, and production hardening. This role requires hands-on expertise in Android multimedia, Codec2/AIDL integration, hardware video encode/decode, video HAL/vendor behavior, kernel and firmware diagnostics, camera-to-video pipelines, display interaction, and end-to-end validation for real-time conferencing, streaming, capture, playback, and encode/decode use cases. The engineer will work across firmware, BSP, camera, display, hardware, application, QA, and silicon/vendor teams to turn platform video capabilities into reliable product behavior.
Per applicable state requirements, the annual pay range for this position($132,000 - $214,000) which consists of base salary (subject to performance), reflects the hiring range for candidates. Also note, an individual's offer may vary from this range as it may be impacted by additional factors, including but not limited to the candidate's hiring location, qualifications, experience, and market factors.
