Job summary

HCI Systems Inc. is seeking skilled Fire Alarm Installers, Technicians and Foremen to join our team based in California.

You will install, program and commission low voltage fire life safety systems in medium to large commercial buildings, leveraging journeyman level installation and troubleshooting experience. As a Foreman or Technician, you will coordinate with the Project Manager, read blueprints, and ensure safe, efficient execution while meeting deadlines and budgets.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • EST3 and EST4 certifications required.
  • Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program (ABC/WECA/WBFAA).
  • Active FLS certification (blue card) a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency with industry equipment including MS Office.
  • Excellent communication skills and dependable attendance.

  • Foreman leads onsite installers, coordinates with Project Manager to meet timelines and budget.
  • Program or have experience with programming low voltage systems (fire alarm, nurse call, access control, CCTV).
  • Execute project plan including equipment delivery, troubleshooting, commissioning and coordination with other trades.
  • Interact with code officials to arrange permits and discuss wiring/installation methods.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications and manuals.

Overview

We are seeking skilled Fire Alarm Installers, Technicians and Foreman to join our team. In this role you will need to be familiar with the equipment, installation, and commissioning of low voltage systems and have at least journeyman level installation and troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities
  • Installation of fire life safety and other low voltage systems in medium and large commercial buildings.
  • Foreman will layout and provide direction to HCI installers on site as well as coordinate and communicate with the Project Manager to efficiently complete the project on time and on budget.
  • Technicians shall have the ability to program or are experienced with programing low voltage systems including fire alarm, nurse call, access control, security, or CCTV.
  • Responsible for the execution of the installation project plan provided including equipment delivery, trouble shooting, commissioning as well as interface with other trades to successfully complete projects while exceeding customer's expectations.
  • Resolve field problems through research of multiple alternatives.
  • Foreman and Technicians, meet with code officials to arrange for building permits, code issues and to discuss the intended wiring and installation methods being used.
  • Foreman and Technicians, coordinate the project activities with other trades at the work locations to optimize installation time.
  • Communicate and effectively interact with other contractors and building owners.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Identify out of scope requests by the contractor or customer and notify management of pending changes.
  • Identify and assist with suggested solutions for an efficient installation to complete scope.
  • Foreman and Technicians, assist customers on site with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Effectively communicate project status to management.
  • Complete all appropriate company paperwork as required.
  • Industry related NICET and/or CA State Certification is preferred.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • EST3 and EST4 certification is required.
  • Applicants must have completed an accredited apprenticeship program such as ABC, WECA, or WBFAA.
  • Active FLS certification (blue card) a plus but not required.
  • Applicants must meet requirements in relation to background and driving record.
  • Must be proficient in the use and application of industry related equipment including MS Office.
  • Must have excellent communications skills, using tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers.
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing a ladder, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools as required and lifting to 75lbs.

Pay Range

USD $45.00 - USD $50.00 /Hr.
