Job summary

Transamerica Corporation is seeking a Lead Financial Analyst to work with Investment Operations and stakeholders to properly account for private debt and private equity investments across multiple strategies. The role partners with leadership, operations, and private equity analysts to drive accountability, improve transparency, and provide timely insights into performance.

The ideal candidate will manage data, documentation, and fund manager communication throughout funding to exit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience, with degree.
  • Advanced computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Liaison with CIO office to understand allocations and cash flow, support asset transfer coordination.
  • Ensure Investment Reporting due diligence for new fund managers.
  • Coordinate with CAS team to ensure CW reporting supports cash reallocations and timely movements.
  • Monitor cash inflows/outflows; validate accounting for income accruals, income received, amortization; support asset transfers between product lines.
  • Explain and troubleshoot earned income and changes in earnings.
  • Extract data from core accounting to troubleshoot cash payment discrepancies with vendors/fund managers.
  • Ensure reporting consistency across business and regulatory functions.
  • Identify system functionality improvements with operations and vendors.
  • Lead transitions of book assets from Clearwater Core to LPx or MLx; complete STAT schedules and FGIs.

Job Description Summary

The Lead Financial Analyst will work directly with Investment Operations team members and other stakeholders to properly account and report activities related to private debt and private equity investments, including Asset Backed Finance, Middle Market Direct Lending, Opportunistic Credit, Infrastructure Credit, and Real Estate Credit. This role will partner closely with varying levels of leadership, operations, internal private equity analysts to drive accountability, improve transparency, and provide timely insights into investment performance. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the processes, documentation, data management, and fund manager communication required to execute transactions and administer assets post-close. This role will liaison with multiple stakeholders within Investment Reporting and external to build communications, operational processes, and reporting framework needed to support private credit investments. This role will work directly with internal Portfolio Management, Finance, Tax, technology, and reporting teams to ensure private credit deals are properly accounted for and reported from funding to exit.



Job Description Responsibilities


  • Liaison and work closely with the CIO office to understand current and future planned allocations, support asset transfer coordination, understand cash flow data provided, and proactively address questions and concerns raised

  • As new fund managers are vetted, ensure Investment Reporting due diligence is successfully completed and requirements fully understood

  • Liaison with CAS team to ensure CW reporting is available to support cash reallocation and proactively address any questions; ensure cash is moved timely between legal entities

  • Liaison with Daily Operations Team monitoring cash inflows and outflows. validate and ensure quality of accounting for income accruals, income received, amortization, between Clearwater LPx and Clearwater Core, support asset transfer movement between product lines and ensure income remains as expected on old vs new product lines

  • Independently oversee quality of earned income and be able to explain and understand the change in earnings

  • Extract financial and attribute data from core accounting system to independently trouble‑shoot cash payment discrepancies by working directly with the vendor or fund manager to resolve exceptions

  • Ensure reporting consistency and accuracy across all business and regulatory functions

  • Partner with operations leaders and vendor to identify system functionality improvements

  • Lead transition of existing book of CML’s, Bank Loans, Limited Partnerships and other invested assets from Clearwater Core to LPx or MLx as applicable

  • Lead role in completing STAT regulatory schedules, Footnotes, and General Interrogatories.



Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 8 years experience, with degree.

  • Advanced computer skills.



Preferred Qualifications


  • 5-7 years of relevant experience working in an investment operations capacity

  • Strong knowledge of private credit fund concepts across a range of strategies, including corporate direct lending

  • Demonstrated ability to build cross‑functional teams

  • Strong knowledge of general finance, process documentation and cross functional operations

  • Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Proven ability to manage tasks with competing priorities and deadlines, while independently driving projects to completion



Working Conditions

Hybrid Office Environment. (In office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.) Fast‑ paced deadline‑ driven office environment. Occasional Travel <10%



Salary

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $97,000.00 - $129,000.00 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law. Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.
