Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking a Lead Field Service Engineer to provide technical leadership for installation, startup, testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical power systems.

The role covers UPS systems, switchgear, ATS, standby generators, battery systems, and power distribution equipment with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction. Occasional travel and hands-on leadership are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree or electrical/electronics training preferred.
• 5+ years of field service experience with critical power equipment.
• Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting UPS systems and battery backup systems.
• Working knowledge of switchgear, ATS, standby generators, and power distribution equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and one‑line drawings.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer locations.
• Ability to pass background screening, drug testing, and driving record requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead field service activities involving installation, startup, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of critical power systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair UPS systems, battery backup systems, switchgear, ATS equipment, standby generators, and distribution equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, and emergency service calls.
• Conduct equipment startups, functional testing, and commissioning.
• Diagnose issues using drawings, schematics, and diagnostic equipment.
• Coordinate planned outages, equipment replacements, and system upgrades with customers and teams.
• Perform battery inspections, testing, and replacement recommendations.
• Prepare detailed service reports and customer recommendations.
• Ensure work follows OSHA, NFPA 70E, LOTO, and safety procedures.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.
• Build relationships by delivering technical support and responsive service.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Field Service Engineer to provide technical leadership and hands‑on support for the installation, startup, testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical power systems. This role supports commercial, industrial, healthcare, data center, and mission‑critical facilities while ensuring the reliable operation of UPS systems, switchgear, automatic transfer switches (ATS), standby generators, battery systems, and associated power distribution equipment.

The ideal candidate is an experienced field service professional with strong electrical troubleshooting skills, a customer‑first mindset, and the ability to lead projects while mentoring junior technicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead field service activities involving the installation, startup, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of critical power systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair UPS systems, battery backup systems, switchgear, ATS equipment, standby generators, and power distribution equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, operational testing, and emergency service calls.
