Tarrant County Repairs complex and specialized heavy off-road track construction equipment and provides on-site repair supervision on equipment used in the road building industry. Responsible for making independent decisions on equipment repairs at the job site.

The role requires supervising repair work, diagnosing issues, training Mechanics I and II, and maintaining safety on site, with proficiency in electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required; four years of related experience may substitute for the diploma.
• Four years of heavy truck/off-road or diesel mechanic experience required.
• Certification from a Mechanic Trade School may substitute for one year of experience.
• A current and valid Class C driver license is required upon hire.
• A Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements is required within eight months of hire.
• CAN experience and ASE coursework are preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Directly and indirectly supervise specialized road equipment repair.
• Repair specialized off-road track equipment in the field, independently or with a Mechanic I.
• Monitor off-road engine, hydraulic and preventative maintenance requirements.
• Test equipment for proper operation.
• Diagnose repair of equipment.
• Provide training to Mechanics I and II in electrical, hydraulic and diesel repairs.
• Ensure safety of work site for employees.
• Serve as shop foreman in the absence of the equipment maintenance supervisor.
• Read and understand repair manuals, electrical and hydraulic schematics for all equipment.
• Design, fabricate, and build special projects for vehicles and equipment.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
