Job summary

Roche is seeking an experienced field engineer to act as the go-to expert for our products, supporting installation, maintenance, and repair. You will lead training and mentorship for new hires and junior engineers and use your independent judgment to analyze regional and customer needs, solving complex issues before, during, and after installations.

You will guide the local team through escalations and ensure high customer satisfaction while providing strategic leadership and direction,

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent military training in Electronics/IT/Medical Technology or related field is required with 8+ years of progressive experience repairing or servicing complex hardware/software, or networking/wireless networking.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or related field plus 4+ years/Master’s degree in Management, Biomedical/Engineering, Mechanical/Engineering, Electrical/Engineering, Chemistry or related field plus 2+ years of progressive experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of training and mentorship plans for new hires and junior engineers.
• Use independent judgment to analyze regional and customer needs, proactively solving complex problems during the installation process.

The Opportunity:

Who You Are:

• An associate’s degree in Electronics, Information Technology, Medical Technology or related field or equivalent military training is required 8+ years of progressive experience repairing or servicing complex mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking OR a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or related field plus 4+ years/Master’s degree in Management, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or related field plus 2+ years of progressive experience repairing or servicing complex mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking
• Prior experience in coaching/mentoring junior level staff
• Prior leadership or lead worker experience and proven success in overseeing and guiding a work team’s functional activities

Preferred Requirements:

• Understanding of Histology workflow and processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem analysis, and decision-making skills.
• Effective planning, organizational, and time management skills.
• Successfully completes training and certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy.
• Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, and information technology, with the ability to communicate knowledge to lower-level staff.
• Previous exposure to College of American Pathologists (CAP) inspections and familiarity with the processes.
• HT,HTL Certification A+, Security +, CCNA, or similar certifications.

This is a field-based role that requires daily travel and up to 60% overnight travel. This includes overnight travel throughout the week; some holidays and weekends may be required. Our ideal candidate to reside in either Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky or surrounding areas within 100,000 of either of the states listed.

The expected salary range for this position, based on the primary location of Virginia is $78,100 - $145,000 USD annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
