Job summary

Baker Hughes invites you to join its Early Career Program: Field Engineering, a 36-month development path for recent graduates. You will be the interface between on-site teams and clients, gaining hands-on field experience and contributing to safe, efficient operations at customer sites.

As a Field Engineer, you will work with diverse teams, tackle technical challenges, and develop leadership and project-management skills while earning competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (all fields) completed within the last 36 months.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and leadership potential.
  • Demonstrate analytical and numerical skills, data analysis and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with crew to deploy tools and services; liaise with customers and shore-based ops managers.
  • Resolve complex technical problems through hands-on site work.
  • Prepare and document outbound/inbound equipment and products to/from the work site.
  • Support tenders with data analysis, cost estimates, and invoicing.
  • Participate in job shadowing to develop a holistic understanding of the business.

Early Career Program: Field Engineering

Our Early Career Program for Field Engineers inspires and guides recent graduates through career-shaping experiences. This program takes approximately 36 months to complete and gets you involved in helping clients locate and produce energy more efficiently. As a Field Engineer

You will be the key interface between our on-site teams and the client. You will work technically and professionally, may have the opportunity to lead crews to ensure that equipment is installed, maintained, and started properly and that jobsite services exceed customer expectations. By making innovative key contributions to our future, you will also help create reliable, high-quality support for our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinating with crew members to deploy tools and services, including liaison with customers and shore-based Operations Managers.
  • Participating in finding solutions to complex technical problems through hands‑on work at the work site.
  • Preparing, documenting, and receiving outbound and inbound equipment and products, including products to and from the work site.
  • Providing support for tenders, including data analysis and cost estimates, as well as performing invoicing activities.
  • Engaging in job shadowing opportunities to develop a holistic understanding of the business.
To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (all fields), Engineering Technology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geosciences, or similar, within the last 36 months.
  • Have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 (or equivalent).
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English, with excellent communication skills.
  • Applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or temporary resident, and will not need employment sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Have good interpersonal skills, with an aptitude for teamwork and the ability to guide others.
  • Demonstrate good leadership, critical thinking, and numerical skills as well as data analysis and project management abilities.

The Hourly rate for this position is $22.50 USD. Baker Hughes pays for all hours worked for this position. The annualized calculated minimum earnings of regular and overtime pay equal at least $90,675.00.
