As an experience Field Engineer, you will play a significant part in the success of planning, organizing and implementing project engineering & project controls tasks for our heavy civil construction projects that could include major highway infrastructure, bridge projects, rail/transit, aviation, water/wastewater and power. Excellent communication, attention to detail and an ability to work well in a team environment are considered critical to this position. We are looking for individuals with motivation and eagerness to expand their skillset in infrastructure construction. This team is the first construction team to the site, performing site prep for the roads, bridges or industrial buildings. Our team performs mass grading/excavation, cut and fill, drainage, paving, underground piping and utility work, earthwork, site development, concrete form work, asphalt paving, and related activities.
Kiewit's South Central District is one of Kiewit's leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets. Projects you could be working on could include mass grading, drainage, paving, utility and more. Although most of our work is regionally based in the south-central region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the United States. Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field or engineering or similar field, with an interest in developing skills and experience in hands-on, self performed construction with at more than 2 years of experience (not including internships) in the construction field, performing functions as outlined above, preferably in the Heavy Civil Infrastructure market. If no BS degree, must have at least 6 years related experience/education.
Must have working knowledge and be able to perform operations in scheduling, understand "critical path method/CPM", material controls, estimating, subcontracts, change orders processes, record keeping/documentation control, jobsite reviews, coordination of work on a site, and understand estimating systems, material management systems, scheduling tools, document control systems.
Experience with leadership and management of people, strong communication skills (verbal and written), planning and organization skills
Familiarity with paving, grading, cut and fill, excavation, anchor bolt on, concrete forming is ideal for this role.
Willing to travel to projects and relocate.
