Job summary

Spectrum News is seeking an Executive Producer to own the vision for the newscast and lead a team from story creation to broadcast. You will ensure timely, accurate coverage, foster a collaborative culture, and drive data-informed storytelling that serves the local community.

The role requires 5+ years producing/executive producing in television news, 2+ years management, and a Bachelor's in Broadcast Journalism or comparable experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years producing and executive producing in television news
• 2+ years of management experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field, or comparable television work experience
• General computer software knowledge
• Basic editing and ability to effectively train others
• Travel willingness to discover important neighborhood stories and engage with the community
• Flexible with schedule changes and different shifts

Responsibilities

• Own the vision for the newscast and lead the team through story creation to produce compelling, timely, and accurate newscasts
• Build a positive team culture while generating story ideas reflecting your local community
• Make data-informed decisions to connect the audience with stories that matter
• Oversee projects start to finish, including breaking news coverage and issue-driven special programming
• Hands-on management and training involving graphics, cameras, and cross-newsroom workflow
