  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
  • 5+ years of relevant cybersecurity, penetration testing, vulnerability research, or offensive security experience.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, application security, and common vulnerability classes.
  • Hands-on experience with penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, reverse engineering, or security research.
  • Proficiency with Python, C/C++, or other relevant programming and scripting languages.
  • Experience with common security testing, debugging, and analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of secure software development and security architecture principles.
  • Ability to independently investigate complex technical systems and identify security weaknesses.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical projects, research initiatives, or security assessments.
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead authorized penetration testing, vulnerability research, and security assessments across company systems and products.
  • Identify, validate, document, and communicate security vulnerabilities and potential attack paths.
  • Conduct adversarial testing of software, networks, APIs, embedded systems, and connected devices within approved environments.
  • Develop testing methodologies and security research approaches for new technologies and products.
  • Perform threat modeling and support security architecture reviews throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to reproduce vulnerabilities, determine root causes, and support remediation.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of security controls and identify opportunities to improve system resilience.
  • Develop tools, scripts, and testing environments to support security research and assessment activities.
  • Conduct authorized testing in laboratory, simulation, and controlled field environments.
  • Produce clear technical reports describing findings, risk, impact, and recommended remediation.
  • Support secure development practices and help integrate security testing into engineering workflows.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to security researchers and engineering team members.
  • Stay current on emerging vulnerabilities, attack techniques, security research, and defensive technologies.
  • Support technical demonstrations, customer engagements, and government programs as needed.

  • Experience with reverse engineering, firmware analysis, binary analysis, or vulnerability research.
  • Familiarity with software-defined radio (SDR) technologies and wireless security testing.
  • Experience building custom security research tools and testing environments.
  • Experience supporting U.S. government or Department of Defense programs.
  • Relevant certifications such as OSCP, OSEP, OSWE, GXPN, GPEN, or similar are a plus.
