Job summary

Lincoln County Health Department is seeking a dedicated Environmental Health Director to plan, develop, organize, and direct a comprehensive environmental health program. Requires experience as an Environmental Healthist within a Kentucky local health department and a valid driver's license.

Candidates must meet KRS 223 registration requirements and complete continuing education annually. The role involves policy development, staff guidance, and ensuring compliance with environmental health laws

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a minor or 24 semester hours in environmental health or related sciences or Kentucky Environmental Specialist/Sanitarian registration (KRS 223).
• Five years' experience in environmental field with at least one year in administrative or supervisory capacity.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must register under KRS 223 to remain a permanent employee and maintain credentials with continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Develops and directs an environmental health program at the local health department.
• Provides guidance to program administrators and monitors program utilization and efficiency.
• Prepares administrative rules, regulations, and policies for environmental health programs.
• Prepares detailed program reports and recommends training and staff changes as needed.
