Job summary

Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee seeks a lead on the Enterprise Compliance Systems Management team to own complex monitoring applications, manage end‑to‑end enhancements from scoping to deployment, and ensure governance‑quality controls are consistently applied.

You will publish robust documentation, dashboards, and reports for executives and regulators, drive AI/automation initiatives, coordinate with cross‑functional stakeholders, and mentor teammates in a dynamic, regulated environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in compliance monitoring or related technology programs.
  • Experience leading medium‑to‑large, cross‑functional system projects from requirements through production implementation.
  • Experience evaluating, piloting, and implementing AI/automation/analytics solutions in a regulated environment, including building business cases and defining success metrics.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience generating and analyzing baseline and recurring reports and synthesizing multiple data sources to drive recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex or sensitive information and build consensus across field and Home Office stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to triage, prioritize, and re‑prioritize tasks quickly across multiple system tools in a dynamic, regulatory‑driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives for monitoring and surveillance systems, coordinating with stakeholders.
  • Conduct daily, monthly, and quarterly monitoring; tune detection logic to reduce false positives.
  • Create monitoring dashboards; publish compliance metrics, KPIs, dashboards and trend reports.
  • Perform analyses to identify and quantify compliance risk; document findings and elevate significant risks.
  • Identify automation opportunities and lead pilots with measurable outcomes.
  • Manage vendor‑delivered enhancements and coordinate issue resolution.
  • Maintain system documentation and ensure alignment with policies and regulations.
  • Provide training and coaching for team members and end users.
  • Lead cross‑functional planning and governance across field and Home Office.
